Vaughan Roberts
Photographer and Film Maker

Vaughan Roberts Romany ProductionsI live in the mountains in the small town of Blaenau Ffestinog in North Wales; it's a great place to be constantly inspired by the forever changing landscape. I've had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember, it's a way to express, represent and interpret the world around me. I spent the first five years of my career studying then, having completed my studies I started working in and around London as a commercial photographer, but I found it to be a timeless way of capturing the moment. Photography is a license; an incentive to see and capture new environments, being an expedition film maker is fulfilling and demanding.

Filming expeditions is like being a Romany gypsy, with no particular home or place for the period in which you are away. Into the wind was my first major project, twenty-five days of persistent photographing and filming, with highs and lows, the learning curve was steep but highly worthwhile.

It has been a road of gambles, trials and small adventures that have culminated to me existing with this career. It is an adventure in itself.

Romany Productions aims to add its side of the story, photographing and filming extreme sports and harsh environments in its own way.
